KISPIOX BAND OFFICE

Kispiox Village is governed by an elected body consisting of 9 Councillors and 1 Chief Councillor. The Kispiox Staff consists of 15 permanent full time employees, 6 machine operators, casual labourers and seasonal silviculture crews.

We also have a Drop-In Centre for our Youth that is run by a Supervisor with 4 support staff members which provides recreational and cultural activities for our youth aged 4 to 20.

Recently we opened an Elders Drop In that is located in our Community Centre. The Elders Drop In is co-managed by Gitksan Health and the Kispiox Band Council which provides recreational and therapeutical activities to our Elders.

In 1996, we opened our Gasbar and with the increase in customers and the demand for a larger variety of items we have expanded and are now in a larger building.

The newly constructed Kispiox School which now covers Nursery to Grade 10 will open September 1998 is owned and operated by the Anspayaxw School Board. This new school replaces the old elementary school which was built in 1957.

The Hatchery Building is currently rented by the Gitxsan Water Shed Authority for the Rangers to operate as a Hatchery.
